Change the Beat Brings Industry Leaders, Artists & Club Culture Together for London Debut at fabric

Change the Beat makes its London debut with a 12-hour event at fabric on Thursday 15 October bringing together over 40 artists, industry professionals and leading music organisations for a day and nite of connection, education and opportunity.

The event will run from 3PM until 3AM, featuring industry talks, networking, photography and live music, before ending in a club nite in fabric’s Main Room. The initiative’s goal is to help connect artists to the people and organisations that shape electronic music, and to widen access and opportunity for women and gender-expansive artists.

Hosted by Sunita Dhaliwal of The Everyday Agency, the daytime program will feature three discussions looking at some of the key steps in developing a career within electronic music.

The first panel, How to Get Booked as a DJ in London, will be moderated by Katie Knight and will feature Alex Holland of Broadwick Live, Martha Bolton of Not Bad For A Girl, Pete Jordan of Junction 2 / LWE and Steven Braines of HE.SHE.THEY.

Coming up next, Sydney Blu will be joined by Andy Henderson from Southern Fried / Knee Deep In Sound, Chris Goss of Hospital Records, Miles Shackleton of Toolroom and Daniel Curpen of Anjunadeep for How to Get Signed to an A-List Dance Label.

The last discussion is How to Get Representation: Managers & Agents and will be moderated by Finlay Johnson. Joining the panel are Frances Shillito of Nite Department, Kal Jhugroo of CAA, Shanae Dennis of The Team and Lucy Harrower of Frame Artists.

The sessions will give artists a first-hand perspective on bookings, A&R, record labels, management and agency representation, offering practical insight into some of the most important pathways in the industry.

Sydney Blu, Founder of Change the Beat, says:

“Bringing Change the Beat to fabric is a huge moment for us. We’ve built this event around what we believe artists genuinely need – access to the people shaping the industry, honest conversations about how it works, and real opportunities to build relationships. To have so many respected artists, labels, agencies and organisations coming together under one roof in London is incredibly exciting, and it represents exactly what Change the Beat was created to do: open doors, build community and create more opportunities for the next generation of electronic music artists.”

Networking is the main focus from 7 pm to 10 pm, featuring Change the Beat’s industry mixer with AFEM, Pete Tong DJ Academy, Not Bad For A Girl and Beatport. The mixer will give artists and professionals a chance to network and will also feature performances from emerging DJs selected through Not Bad For A Girl and Pete Tong DJ Academy, who will join N1NJA on the decks.

fabric’s Main Room will open for the final stage of the event, from 10PM to 3AM, with TSHA, Kitty Amor, Sydney Blu, Emily Nash and N1NJA all taking to the decks.

Funds raised from the club nite will go beyond the London event to support Change the Beat’s international artist development program, offering education, mentorship and career opportunities for women and gender-expansive artists. The organisation is also working toward its goal to help 300 artists secure label opportunities by 2028.

The London debut marks another step in Change the Beat’s international expansion, uniting different parts of the electronic music industry while continuing its work to create greater access and pathways for emerging talent.
